I explain digital creative tools — video editing, design and generative AI — to people who are approaching them for the first time. My aim is always the same: that the reader or the audience comes away thinking, I could probably do that myself.
Background
Software Demonstrator (2005–2014)
Demonstrated software in retail stores and at events, to audiences ranging from people with no technical background to existing users of the product.
ICT Support Staff / Operations Coordinator (2014–2024)
Supported ICT education at elementary, secondary and high schools in Japan: assisting with classroom use of devices, explaining software to students, and running training sessions for teaching staff.
Technical Writer / Creator (present)
Monthly column in I/O magazine (Kohgakusha). Five published books. Speaking at vendor webinars most months.
Retail customers, students, teachers, webinar audiences. Across all of them I have tried to keep to one thing: explaining in a way that actually reaches the person in front of me.
